Copa Americana is an athletic and cultural event, delivering an exciting challenge for teams and players looking for an unrestricted play style. This tournament features the best International Italian Soccer Academy teams including the Elite in each age category competing against clubs from Aruba, Colombia, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, USA, Venezuela, Italy and more. This tournament is an exchange of experiences, culture and sport customs between South America, North America, Europe and the rest of the world while competing against the best International players seeking to win a 'No Pay to Play' award at the next Copa Americana tournament.

Pereira Pereira is the capital city of the Colombian department of Risaralda. It is located in the foothills of the Andes in a coffee-producing area of Colombia officially known as the "Coffee Axis". Pereira, alongside the rest of the Coffee Axis, form part of UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia". It is the most populated city in the Coffee Axis and the second-most populated city in the Paisa region, after Medellín. Pereira is also part of the Central West Metropolitan Area, which has 709,322 residents and is composed of Pereira and the neighboring cities of Dosquebradas and La Virginia.

Pereira is located in what is known as the Golden Triangle, because it is located in the middle of Bogota, Medellin and Cali. Being in the center of the Golden Triangle, Pereira has become especially important in the fields of trade and commerce.

Pereira is known nationally for being an important city for tourism, attracting visitors as it is the center of the Coffee Cultural Landscape as named by UNESCO. Pereira has several landmarks which attract tourists, such as the Bolivar Statue, the Viaduct, and its many other city landmarks.

Pereira is located in a warm moorland area. The average temperature is 22 °C (72 °F). The annual average rainfall is 2,750 millimetres (108 in). There is a large degree of biodiversity in the region.

Pereira has a huge variety in sport arenas in the city. It has the biggest and best Olympic Village in the Western part of the Country, with the recently renovated Stadium Hernan Ramirez Villegas, the Velodrome, the Olympic swimming pools, the multiple tennis and synthetic football fields, and the biggest Skate Park in the Country. It also has many other venues like the Commerce Club with many more venues.

Pereira's main soccer team is the Deportivo Pereira, which has just been promoted to play in the Categoría Primera A, the top tear soccer league in the country. The Deportivo Pereira won back to back Categoria B titles in 2019.

These players are allowed per team. These guests must be included on the roster and they count towards the roster limit.


MATCH LENGTH

2010: 7 v 7 two halves 25 minutes each

2008: 9 v 9 two halves 30 minutes each

2006 and 2003: 11 v 11 two halves 35 minutes each

Each team will play a minimum of 4 games.


LAWS OF THE GAME

Games will be punctual - no exceptions. All games will be played under modified FIFA laws of the game. Full manual with the rules and regulations will be provided during team registration.


SCORING METHOD

Win = 3 points

Tie = 1 point

Loss = 0 points

In the elimination stage, if the score is tied at the end of regulation time, kicks from the penalty mark, as per FIFA laws will decide the match.

FORFEIT

If a team does not turn up for a game, loses on protest, or is omitted from the tournament, the score is set at 0-3.

PRIZE

FIRST PLACE: For 2010 to 2008: The winner may participate in the Copa Americana USA 2021 INCLUDES: - Accommodation for 14 people including the coach (4 nights) - Local Transportation - 2 scholarships for any ITSA camp. Meals NOT included

For 2006 and 2003: The winner will be able to participate in the Copa Americana USA 2021 INCLUDES: - Accommodation for 16 people including the coach (4 nights) - Local Transportation - 2 scholarships for any ITSA camp. Meals NOT included

Note: Participating teams that are tournament winners (champions) and receive No Pay To Play, will be eligible to win this reward up to three times in the row. A maximum of three free participations are allowed. Teams will be required to paying registration and packages after their third free participation.

TOP SCORER: Trophy - 1 scholarship to any ITSA camp.

BEST GOALIE: Trophy - 1 scholarship to any ITSA camp.

* ONLY THE TEAMS THAT HAVE TAKEN ACCOMMODATION PACKAGES MAY BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE AWARDS. LOCAL TEAMS ARE EXEMPT FROM THE ACCOMMODATION PACKAGE IF THEY HAVE PAID THE FULL TEAM REGISTRATION COST. ALL PRIZES MUST BE CLAIMED BEFORE NOVEMBER 30, 2020, EITHER BY SENDING AN EMAIL OR WRITTEN FORM AND INDICATING THE PRIZE TO CLAIM.
